Can I do the upgrade myself, or have my IT team do it?

This depends on what version you are upgrading from:  
         
    If you are running version 6.15 or above, and DO NOT have AccuraOnline, you can download and install the upgrade yourself. Click here to download - and select the PATCH installer file.  
         
    If you are running version 5.x to version 6.13 and DO NOT have AccuraOnline, you can download and install the upgrade yourself. Click here to download - and select the FULL installer file.  
         
    For all versions BELOW 5.0x and you will need to perform a two-step upgrade and MAY need asisstance (depending on how complex, this may be chargeable). Please contact our support team for advice first.  
       
    If you are running any version AND DO have AccuraOnline you need to contact our support department to book the upgrade in for you.  
      NOTE: The installer requires a password - you will need to contact support for this so we can verify your details. Please do not attempt a self-upgrade outside of UK office hours in case you need urgent assistance.  
      ALWAYS ensure you have a full and current backup before commencing any upgrade.

How long will the upgrade take?

This is hard to say, it depends on several factors - for example, the volume of data you have, how fast your servers are, and what version you are upgrading from. If you are upgrading from version 5.3x, then we would expect only a SHORT upgrade time.

From earlier version than v5.30, it could take from 1 hour to perhaps 2-3 hours. You need to allow a good window of time, perhaps later in your working day and YOU MUST take a current backup before commencing anything!

Can I abstain from upgrading?

Yes you can, however all new releases also include bug fixes - so you will be frozen on your version along with any issues legacy bugs may cause. Your AccuraOnline version will also be frozen. Also, if you abstain for too long it may become impossible to upgrade you in the future.

Lastly of course, you won't be getting the full benefits of your annual service contract subscription.

Your MIS is an investment in the future of your business, it is an ever-changing tool that will keep your business running efficiently and competitively in today's evolving market. If when you purchased Accura we had told you there would NEVER be any upgrades - would you have still bought it? (unlikely).
